Give for Good and Food
GIVE FOR GOOD and FOOD On May 6, 2014, the culture of philanthropy in North Louisiana will change forever. On that day the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana will participate in a 24-hour online philanthropy challenge to encourage people everywhere to Give for Good. This event is organized to celebrate the 100th anniversary of community foundations across the country and to engage a new generation of donors to help make a good place even better! The Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana will be working hard over the next few months to encourage our donors and supporters to give on May 6. We are planning an event that day to celebrate the Give for Good campaign. Stay tuned for more details on what fun activities we’ll have that day. Please plan to join with us to make this event a great success for our food insecure neighbors. . Here’s how simple it is to Give for Good! • Between midnight and 11:59 pm on May 6, go to giveforgoodnla.com • A list of registered nonprofits will appear. Select Northwest Louisiana Food Bank • Type your name and contact information into the form • Enter the amount you wish to contribute • Enter your credit or debit card information • Receive a confirmation and a very special thank you • Celebrate the value you’ve just donated! Donations made during Give for Good are 100% tax deductible. You will immediately receive an email confirming the deduction from The Community Foundation of North Louisiana and will be instructed to save the email for tax purposes. By selecting a specific charity to receive your donation, your gift is restricted for that charity and will not be given to any other charity. Giving to the Food Bank on this day means that every contribution will be amplified with matching dollars from a national pool and The Community Foundation of North Louisiana. We will also be eligible for hourly cash bonus prizes. With the Food Bank’s ability to stretch a dollar, for each dollar donated we will provide $10 of food to the community. We are excited about the potential this day has for the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana. We truly believe May 6, 2014 will be one for the history books. Thank you in advance for your time and efforts.    [ view ]
